if i were to recommend 4 herbs to help you get started on your plant journey, i would begin with these:

lavender - used in salves and serums for the skin, great for sleep and stress and even as an insect repellent

chamomile - makes a great tea that’s perfect before bed. like lavender it’s also very calming and a great skin care plant to have on hand.

turmeric - best known for its anti inflammatory properties, turmeric is also good for the heart and a key ingredient in my golden spice lattes

nettle - a super food high in nutrients and nature’s antihistamine

Every year when the weather gets warm, I gravitate

Every year when the weather gets warm, I gravitate to cold brews in the afternoon. I grabbed some @stokcoldbrew from costco yesterday and made the first one of the season. I have to say it did not disappoint!

You’ll need:
1 cup of cold brew
1/4 cup of half & half
1 teaspoon of honey
pinch of sea salt
splash of vanilla extract

shout out to @vdovichenko_beefarm for making the best honey in the greenville area!

happy anniversary ❤️

hubs planned out a celebration that included places we hadn’t been to before. following along with the theme, i tried things i hadn’t tried before at each place.

first up was @maplestreetbisquitcompany . i’ve never had a vanilla maple latte. I asked for just a little bit sweet and have to say i’ve made it here at home 3 times already! it’s so good!

we certainly never had eggs cooked in a waffle maker! mine had bacon in it, hubs had sausage in his. but the standout of the meal were those smashbrowns. they were so addictive!

we came home, took a nap and then got ready for dinner. we went to @coralgreenville and oh my gosh! hubs picked it because he knew i would order the halibut. and yeah, it was right.

we ordered the calamari fries that he had been thinking about all week and the french fries cooked in duck fat. OMG. i’m drooling just thinking about it.

and the halibut? it was the absolute best fish i have ever eaten. like i want to work there now just to learn how to make it! it sat on top of this broccoli salad with peach chutney on top. i’m not a fan of blackened, so they left that part off for me. divine, simply divine.

he had a steak with chimichurri on it, also great and i’m not ashamed to say that i ate most of his asparagus! i also tried an Argentinian red, another first for me. why on earth did i wait so long? it was perfect.

then as it that wasn’t enough he took me to @carmellasdessertbar to bring dessert home. i had the chocolate mousse and he had the hummingbird cake. they portions were huge, lasting us two days. so decadent and the perfect ending to the evening.
